Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide clients across Western Pennsylvania with professional building inspection and plan review services for commercial and residential buildings, from construction document review through completion. PCS will provide a highly skilled, professional team that utilizes its extensive code knowledge and practical experience to protect the health and safety of the general public. PCS provides a comprehensive plan review service and subsequent, accurate field inspections and/or approvals. Our customers have the assurance that the most professional individuals in the Building Code Industry are working for them.

Scott A. Chermak

Scott earned a BS degree in Biology at Duquesne University prior to his employment with the Allegheny County Health Department. Scott has over 20 years of experience in local government agencies focused on public health and building safety. Scott’s knowledge of the building code, along with practical skills in communication and conflict resolution, are what make him an excellent leader and code official.

John W. Nath
|
John’s experience in code enforcement and construction is represented in his designation as a Master Code Professional. After graduating from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a BS in accounting, John established a residential and commercial construction company. After 7 years of hands-on construction experience, John became more interested in the history of reliable construction techniques and the building codes behind them. John became a building official with a local government and later worked as building inspector and plans examiner with a consulting organization. John obtained the certification of Master Code Official in 2001. The Master Code Official certification, later renamed as Master Code Professional, is the industry’s highest and most respected certification. The MCP designation includes comprehensive certifications in Plan Review, Inspections, Legal Aspects and Department Management.

Jason R. Smith

Jason became interested in Building and Fire Inspections as he worked in the field of Emergency Services, while attending college at Butler County Community College. Jason was an active member of South Butler Volunteer Fire Department, where he held many administrative and operational leadership positions throughout his volunteer career. Jason was also employed with a local contractor, emergency ambulance service, STAT MedEvac and Butler County Community College as a part time faculty-Instructor.
In 2007, Jason started his career in Code Administration for Cranberry Township, he quickly advanced through the ranks and during the last several years before joining PCS, he focused on managing the departments operations, which conducted around 12,000 inspections annually, while continuously providing a safe, sustainable and enjoyable community for the residents, businesses and visitors. Jason is known well for conflict resolution and his “thinking outside of the box” mindset, which assisted in his advancement within local government. Jason strives to work closely with residents, contractors and designers, to ensure that projects are proceeding smoothly for the duration, and complete without any unnecessary interruptions or hardships. |

Mary-Ann has over 30 years of experience in office administration and provides the highest level of professional and customer service. Mary-Ann has demonstrated and provided exceptional customer service to all of our clients. Her organization and management skills are an asset to our company.
